While your cougar is older than you, that doesn't mean that she doesn't want to be taken care of. Women, even older women, love for their man to take charge and be assertive. By nature, women are submissive. They want to be protected, swept off their feet and cared for. Just because you are dating an older woman doesn't mean that she has to be motherly and tend to your needs and desires. Act as if you are the same age and don't be afraid to take the lead.
Don't Focus On The Difference In Age
While others might take note of the difference in age between you and your cougar, don't point it out when you're in her presence. You'll both make the occasional joke or comment about the age gap but you shouldn't harp on it. It gets old and it'll turn your cougar off. Both of you need to get over the fact that there's a significant age gap and focus on the dynamics of the relationship.
Make Her Feel Comfortable Around Your Friends And Family
While your friends and family might question your interest in an older woman, this doesn't mean that you should allow them to treat your cougar any differently than your previous girlfriends. Let your inner circle know that you really care for your cougar and that they shouldn't use the age gap as a point of conversation or the basis for any jokes. If she can't feel comfortable around your friends and family, she won't view you as anything more than a temporary fling.
